Puffer Jacket Step by Step Manufacturing Process

Step1: Material Inspection

The accessories of a puffer jacket generally include fabrics, lining, buttons, zippers, zippers, sewing threads, trademarks, labels, fur collars, down, and packaging (hanging grains, tags, and packaging bags). Before the production of ready-to-wear clothes, each category of accessories must be strictly inspected to ensure the first pass of the production process. Whether the down is filled power, the color of the fur collar, the zipper is smooth, or the sewing thread is too thick. These seemingly casual details will determine the quality of the down jacket.

Step2: Plate Making

Clothing plate making is a part of modern clothing engineering. Modern clothing engineering is composed of three parts: style design, structural design, and process design. Clothing plate making is the structural design, also known as plate making, which determines the specific specifications and dimensions of each part through pattern processing or printing. It is not only the extension and development of style and design, but also the preparation and foundation of process design.

Step3: Cropping

The puffer jacket is different from other garment processes. When cutting down jacket pieces, the back length is generally taken as the basic size. At the same time, natural retraction, quilting line retraction, and chest circumference retraction should also be considered. When quilting, lines should be drawn on the fabric and aligned with the quilting. The quilting line should be straight, the stitch should be clear, uniform, and flat, the elasticity should be consistent, and there should be no significant difference in the thickness of the velvet.

Step4: Filling and Sealing

The down-filling quantity is not an indicator to measure the down quality. It refers to the weight of all down filled by a Down jacket. In addition, when filling, it is important to pay attention to even filling, otherwise, it can easily aggregate and affect aesthetics and warmth retention. When sealing, attention should be paid to handling the details, and there should be no overflow of down at the sewing point, and the stitching should be flat.

Step5: Quilting

Quilting is the use of long needles to sew textile fabrics with interlayers to secure the down inside. The current quilting process involves sewing decorative stitching on three layers of fabric (fabric, padding, and lining), usually with fillers placed between the fabrics. Both manual and machine quilting can create uneven three-dimensional patterns on the fabric, allowing the quilted product to showcase its unique style.

Step6: Finished Products Inspection

Before implementing product quality testing, it is necessary to understand the specifications jointly developed by the customer and the processing enterprise before identifying or measuring the product, comparing the results with the established standards, determining whether each batch of products is qualified, and promptly providing feedback to the superior department for corresponding measures. During the inspection of the puffer jacket, attention should be paid to the needle detector before the garment leaves the factory to prevent broken needles from remaining in the garment during the production process.

Step7: Package

Fold back the hat and sleeves in order, and fold the body back a little. When packaging, hanging tags, and other items should be neatly arranged and leveled in order, and fastened to the top of the zipper. Box according to the ratio, and require the finished clothes to be folded and placed neatly and evenly. The box should indicate the model number, product name, size, color, quantity, and production unit. Hanging tags and water washing labels should be labeled with the inspector number, general inspection number, etc. item number, color number, size, etc.
